The Association

The EUI Alumni Association joins former researchers of the European University Institute (EUI). All those spent at least one year at the EUI as a PhD student, Jean Monnet or Max Weber Fellow are eligible for membership.

The Association was created in 1986 with the mission to promote the interests of the EUI alumni by connecting them with each other and with their alma mater. In 2017-18 it has been reorganised as an association with legal personality and enlarged its activities to new sectors as career support for his members, international fundraising, and political representation of the Alumni interests. Since April 2018 the administration acts in complete independence from the EUI.

The Association engages with the alumni community, organises alumni weekends, conferences and social and cultural events throughout the year and in many places. The Alumni Association also hosts the Alumni Career Event where prominent alumni are invited to illustrate different career opportunities, experiences and perspectives to current EUI researchers.

The Association is administered by an Executive Committee consisting of five Full Members who are elected for two years.
